Character Deletion Requirements and Steps
- Reach Level 10
Only characters that have reached Level 10 or higher are eligible for deletion. If your character is between Level 1 and 9, the game won’t let you start the deletion process. So, if you accidentally made a character and want to delete it immediately, you’ll need to spend about 15–20 minutes leveling it up to Level 10 first. - Select Delete
From the main character selection screen, highlight the character you want to remove and click the Delete button. This initiates the deletion process. - Confirm Deletion
You’ll be asked to type a confirmation phrase, usually something like “Confirm Delete” or your character’s name, to verify that you really want to delete the character. This step prevents accidental deletions. - Wait Out the 7-Day Grace Period
After confirming, your character enters a pending deletion state. NCSoft enforces a 7-day countdown before the character and all its data are permanently erased from the server. During this time, the character isn’t playable, but it isn’t gone yet either.
Crucial Things to Know Before Deleting
- Name Lock: Your character’s name will remain locked for the full 7-day grace period. You won’t be able to reuse it immediately for a new character.
- Canceling Deletion: Changed your mind? No problem. Log back into the character selection screen anytime during the 7-day countdown and click Cancel Deletion. Your character will be fully restored instantly.
- Account-wide Restrictions: If this is your last character holding valuable inventory, currencies, or progression, be aware that deleting it will permanently remove all of that content. Make sure you aren’t deleting something you’ll regret losing.
By following these steps, you can safely manage your Aion 2 characters without losing progress unintentionally. The 7-day waiting period might feel long, but it’s a safety net designed to prevent accidental deletions—a feature many players appreciate after a mistake.
